India's veteran tennis player Leander Paes was honored on the last day of the Bengaluru Open on Sunday, February 16, 2020. Paes, who played his last ATP Tour match on home court, was honored by former Olympians and sportspersons at the KSLTA Stadium in Bengaluru.
According to information, Leander Paes and his partner Matthew Abden had to face defeat in the final of Bengaluru Open on Saturday. Paes and his Australian partner were defeated 6–0, 6–3 by the fourth seeded Indian pair of Purav Raja and Ramkumar Ramanathan. It is worth noting that before the final, Paes wrote on his Twitter account, 'It is a great pleasure to be in the final of the last tournament on home ground. He tweeted that someone told me to think about reaching the final of the last tournament on your home ground. I said it would be like a dream. And this dream is coming true today. It is also a pleasure that today only one Indian will win this title.

Let us tell you that the record of winning the most doubles matches in Davis Cup is in the name of Leander Paes. Paes had recorded his 44th win against the Pakistani duo (Muhammad Shoaib and Huffeza Abdul Rahman). In the Davis Cup last year, he broke Nicola's record and set the record for winning the most doubles matches.
