Kolkata: Some Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs on Friday wrote to PM Narendra Modi demanding the removal of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta from office. Party MPs Derek O'Brien, Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, Mahua Moitra have written this letter to PM Modi. He has claimed that leader of opposition and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has met Tushar Mehta in the West Bengal Assembly. However, Mehta denied the allegations of the meeting.

In their letter, the three Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders have said how can the Solicitor General meet Suvendu Adhikari accused of two financial scams (Narada-Sarda)? That is why Mehta should be removed from his post. In the letter, TMC leaders said, "Officials are accused in the Narada-Saradha scam and such meetings have been held to influence the results of those cases."

Tushar Mehta has responded by categorically denying the allegations of TMC. He said that Suvendu Adhikari came to my residence office yesterday (Thursday). He came at about three o'clock in the afternoon without informing. Since, I was already in a pre-scheduled meeting in my room, my staff requested them to sit in the waiting room of my office and offered them a cup of tea.
