Kamla kaul Nehru was the freedom fighter and daughter of India’s prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. She participated in many freedom movements along with her husband.
EARLY LIFE
Kamla Nehru was born on August 1, 1899, to pandit Jawaharlalmal and Rajpati in a Kashmiri Brahmin family. Kamala Nehru was a very shy and quiet girl, largely because of the fact that she hailed from a very simple family and was brought up in a conservative atmosphere. She married to Jawaharlal Nehru on February 7, 1916. She gave birth to Indira who later become prime minister of India.

FIGHT IN INDIAN FREEDOM MOVEMENT
Kamla Nehru participated actively in the freedom movement against British rule and emerged as a strong woman to provide leadership in the fight of freedom. The Non-Cooperation Movement of 1921 saw Kamala Nehru's entry into the freedom struggle of the country. In the year 1924, she gave birth to her second child who died two days later. She took the public podium in place of Jawaharlal Nehru and addressed to the crowd. She was arrested twice by Britisher for the involvement in freedom struggle activities.
DEATH AND COMMEMORATIONS
Kamla Nehru died on February 28, 1936, as she was suffering from tuberculosis for a long time. A large number of public institutions and places have been named after Kamla Nehru.
