Crime in Indore: An additional city civil and session’s court sentenced a man to life imprisonment under the Pocso Act for raping a minor. 

The court also ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs. 4000. Indore District Prosecution Officer Mohammad Akram Sheikh on Saturday said: "The accused in the case, Sandeep (25) son of Chaganlal Solanki of Chander village, was booked under Section 450, 376 (2) (I) and 380 of IPC and under Section 5 (M)/6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act in Betma Police Station,"

Giving details, DPO Sheikh said that the victim belongs to a labour family and her mother works in a brick kiln. The incident took place on April 17, 2018. When the victim was inside her house and her mother was at work, Sandeep entered the house and raped the minor. When her mother returned home Sandeep opened the door of the house and fled from the place. The victim told her mother that Sandeep raped her and robbed the money kept in the almirah of the room. He also threatened the victim that he would kill her if she told anyone of the incident. Special public prosecutor Sushila Rathore represented the victim.
