Lucknow: People who are fond of drinking alcohol are going to get a big shock. Actually, liquor is going to be expensive in Uttar Pradesh from April 1. The Yogi Adityanath government of the state has given the green signal to the new excise policy in the cabinet meeting held on Saturday, (January 28). In the UP cabinet meeting, a 10 percent increase in the license of liquor and beer bars has been approved.

The new excise policy is for 2023-24. In which country liquor and beer are going to be expensive. Due to the increase in excise license fees by the government, the price of liquor will increase. The Yogi government has set a target of raising revenue of Rs 45,000 crore through liquor and wine in the next financial year. Under which license fees of beer bars, foreign liquor shops and contracts are being increased.

The government has approved the renewal of licenses of all domestic and foreign liquor, beer, cannabis shops and model shops, in which their fees will be increased. Along with this, the fees for the license of liquor warehouses, registration and renewal of master warehouses have also been increased. Let us tell you that the license fee for liquor served in hotels, restaurants, and clubs located up to 5 km from the periphery of Lucknow Municipal Corporation is also being increased.
