New Delhi: The sugar industry in the country is going through a continuous crisis. Due to which sugarcane producing farmers are being affected. On the other hand, in the changing global environment, with the help of ethanol in the global environment, the efforts of reducing the import dependence of crude oil, to get rid of environmental pollution and to give the option of sugar production to the domestic sugar industry. But the priority of some state governments is more than just revenue. The relief from the state governments is that a large part of the domestic production of ethanol is being consumed by liquor companies every year.

This year, against the target of 10 percent set in petrol at the national level, only 5.8 percent of ethanol has been mixed. It has to be increased to 20 percent by the year 2030. Due to the availability of sugar from domestic to the global market, the sugar industry, having difficulty in getting the option of producing ethanol, was able to reduce crude oil imports. With this, many targets are hit by a single arrow.

The priority of the central government is to encourage the use of ethanol. Sugarcane growers are helping the state and the sugar industry established there in every possible way. Providing molasses at concessional rates by making legal provisions to liquor companies instead of sugarcane farmers and the sugar industry may not be in favor of the policies of the Center.

The total production of ethanol in India in the current year was 300 million liters, of which 110 crore liters went to the accounts of the winemakers, while 300 million liters were given to the ethanol chemical industry. The remaining 160 million liters of ethanol were used to mix petrol. The chemical industry meets its remaining requirements with imported ethanol.
