The case of giving power to the SET (Special Enquiry Team) in liquor scam in the India's state of Haryana has got embroiled in a legal battle. Home Minister Anil Vij wrote a letter to the Home Secretary regarding this matter. That matter has now reached LR. It is being discussed that how to give the power of inquiry under section 32 to SET. The Home Minister is wishing that the SET should get the power of inquiry under the CrPC in this matter. For example, he was able to interrogate Bhupendra and other accused.

In the midst of this situation, Home Minister Anil Vij wrote a letter to increase the powers of SET. Time is moving slowly in this exercise. The government has sought a report from SET before 31 May. ADGP is Subhash Yadav's retirement on 31 May. According to the sources, after the continuous delay, now the time of SET has been fixed because so far SET has not been able to do anything special in its investigation. Due to the short time, investigation in the case is not possible till May 31.

If the time limit of SET increases, then it is also natural for ADGP Subhash Yadav to get three months extension. It is known that in this case, the government formed the first SET. In whose term and condition it was written that SET would match the record of liquor warehouses. Apart from this, the SET will see whether the liquor present in the liquor sealed warehouses and police shops during the lock-down is more or less. The SET had just started its investigation that Anil Vij wrote a letter to increase the power of SET in this case.
