Patna: LJP supremo Chirag has reacted sharply to the case of Shiv Sena activists assaulting a retired Navy officer in Mumbai. Expressing displeasure over the incident, Chirag Paswan has said that President's rule should be imposed in Maharashtra as the situation is getting out of control. 62-year-old retired Navy officer Madan Sharma was beaten by 8-10 people yesterday.

The former Navy officer had forwarded a cartoon of Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on WhatsApp. Sheila Sharma, daughter of retired naval officer Madan Sharma, said that she was threatened due to the cartoon forwards and Shiv Sena people attacked my father. While giving information in this case, the police said that four people have been arrested in this regard. An official said that the incident occurred at around 11.30 am in the Lokhandwala Complex area of Kandivali suburb.

He said, "Retired Naval officer Madan Sharma sent a cartoon on CM Uddhav in a WhatsApp group. Some Shiv Sena workers went to his house and beat him up. Sharma suffered an eye injury and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. This incident of assault has been captured in the CCTV camera of the society. The officer said that a case has been registered against six people under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code and provisions related to rioting. He said that Kamlesh Kadam and three others were arrested in the evening in this case. The case is being investigated".
