ICU beds and oxygen shortages have occurred in most hospitals due to Kovid's quandary in Delhi. In view of the oxygen crisis, while some hospitals have stopped recruiting new patients, some hospitals are forcibly discharging patients from their homes.
Director of Delhi Government's Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, Dr. Suresh Kumar said on Saturday that all ICU beds in our hospital are full for the last 4-5 days. Some serious patients require 40–50 liters of oxygen per minute to maintain oxygen levels. Oxygen supply chains are also being affected. Where Dr. Suresh Kumar said this time, there are two reasons for the increase in deaths due to Kovid, most of the hospitals lack Remedisivir injection and second, the strain of the virus is more dangerous than before. He said that more deaths are occurring in mutant strains. This time the deaths of youth, children, and pregnant women are increasing.
He said that this time Kovid has not left any such age group, which is not going to die. There are more deaths due to the shortage of ICU beds. It is estimated that a peak of one to two weeks will remain and after that, it will gradually decrease.
