Permanent construction works costing around Rs 150 crore have come to a standstill following steps taken by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Along with this, the Kumbh Mela works were affected due to non-receipt of construction materials before Corona. Along with this, works costing about Rs 70 crore of the Provincial Block Public Works Department are closed due to Corona. Similarly, works costing about Rs 70 to 80 crore from the irrigation department are also stalled and some work has not been started. At the same time, the period of completion of permanent construction work of Kumbh Mela is scheduled on 31 October.

With this, the officials of PWD and Irrigation Department believe that if the government extends the period of lock-down even after 31 March, then it may be difficult to achieve the target of 31 October. Along with this, construction work of five PWD bridges and double lane road in Bahadarabad is closed. Along with this, construction of four bridges in Bairagi Camp and one bridge in Dhanori is closed. At the same time, preparations to start the construction of fourlane and doublelane bridge on BHEL, BHEL middle road have been shelved. The construction of the Cajway in Khadkhali has also not started.

The work of the three bathing ghats under the Kumbh Yojana under construction of the irrigation department is at a standstill and the work of starting the construction of the Aastha Path along the Kangra Ghat upstream of Harki Padi and on the banks of the Ganges River is underway. At the same time, the work of doubling the Kandar track route is also stalled. All the preparations for the Kumbh Mela from Corona have been badly affected. At the same time, construction work was affected due to non-receipt of construction material due to the strike of stone crushers. Along with this, the district administration had opened the Ravasan river to remove the problem of construction material, but the construction work of about 70 crore from the government's lock-down to stop the coronavirus has stopped. If the lockdown is extended even after 31 March then it may be difficult to achieve the goal of Aquarius.
