During the lockdown, a daily wage laborer from Patiala (Punjab) trapped in Haridwar, committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the hotel. Police has informed his family in this regard.

According to Haridwar Kotwali Police, on March 14, son Ramashankar (56), resident of Nabha district, Patiala Punjab, along with his son Manjeet and three other acquaintances, came here for the task of coloring. They were all trapped here due to the lockdown. On Sunday morning, Ramashankar, who stayed in a hotel in Shravanathanagar area, jumped on the fifth floor of the hotel. The son of the deceased informed the police regarding the incident.

For your information, let us tell you that on receiving the information, Mayapur outpost in-charge Sanjit Kandari reached the spot and collected information by taking possession of the body. The deceased's son Manjeet informed the police that his father's mental condition was not good. He had also attempted suicide twice in the past. He said that the hotel operator and the police were making arrangements to eat all the people who stayed here. Kotwali in-charge Praveen Singh Koshyari said that the body has been taken for possession and sent for postmortem.
