Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha today, following a heated debate in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. The Prime Minister responded to the motion of thanks to the President's address, frequently criticizing the Congress party. He emphasized that the BJP-led NDA had secured its third consecutive term and urged the Congress to respect the people’s mandate.
Yesterday, the Lok Sabha was a scene of chaos, with opposition MPs attempting to drown out the Prime Minister’s speech. During his two-hour address, PM Modi took aim at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, dismissing his previous speech as "childish behavior."
As opposition members continued their protests, the Prime Minister remarked, "I understand the frustration... even after spreading falsehoods, they faced defeat. The people of India have entrusted us with the opportunity to serve for the third time."
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die after adopting the motion of thanks on the President’s address. The 264th session, which began on June 27, concluded with the Prime Minister's response to the motion and its subsequent adoption.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Tuesday, simultaneously.
