NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to receive the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak National Award in Pune on August 1. The award serves as a recognition of his exceptional leadership, which has propelled India towards progress and prosperity.

On August 1, on the occasion of Lokmanya Tilak's 103rd death anniversary, the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust (Hind Swaraj Sangh) will bestow the esteemed Lokmanya Tilak National Award upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This highly regarded award is an annual tribute presented by the Trust in remembrance of Lokmanya Tilak, a

prominent figure in India's freedom struggle during the early 20th century. Bal Gangadhar Tilak, an ardent advocate of Indian self-rule (Swarajya), played a pivotal role in mobilizing the masses and their aspirations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been selected as the 41st recipient of this prestigious award, which includes a memento and a citation. It is a testament to his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to fostering patriotism among the citizens of India, as stated by the trust.

Last year, the Lokmanya Tilak National Award was bestowed upon senior scientist Tessy Thomas, affectionately known as India's "missile woman." She served as the project director for the Agni-4 and Agni-5 missile systems, making significant contributions to the country's defense capabilities.
