Lucknow: A loving couple from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur committed suicide by jumping in front of a passenger train holding each other's hand. On getting information, RPF and police reached the spot and identified the dead. Police officers say that prima facie the matter is of love affair. The accident took place near Majra village under Police Station Rampur Maniharan area.

According to the police, the Saharanpur-Delhi passenger train had left for Delhi in the morning. As soon as the train reached near village Majra of the Rampur Maniharan area, the young man and the woman committed suicide by jumping in front of the train. Both have been identified as Sherpur Gurjar Munna alias Mukesh (30) of village Kotwali Rampur and Anjali (22) of village Mavi Khurd, Sadar Bazar village of Saharanpur police station. SP City Abhimanyu Manglik says that the matter is of a love affair. Why did you commit suicide? It is being ascertained. Whatever facts will come out, further action will be taken on the basis of that.

According to SP City, the loco pilot says that the train was running at a speed of about 90 kmph at around 4.20 am. Then suddenly a young woman and a young man jumped in front of the train holding each other's hands. Seeing both, an attempt was made to stop the train, but due to high speed, the brakes could not be applied. After this, the loco pilot informed about this after reaching Manani railway station. The station master informed the concerned police post Chunheti gate. Police reached the spot and took the dead bodies of both of them for postmortem.
