The new month begins today. On the first day of October, there has been a major setback in inflation. State-run oil marketing companies have hiked the prices of LPG gas cylinders since October 1. Indian Oil Corporation, the country's largest state-owned oil company, has hiked the prices of 19kg commercial gas cylinders by up to Rs 43.5 per cylinder. Subsequently, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder in the national capital has increased from Rs 1,693 to Rs 1,736.5 per cylinder.

However, oil companies have not increased the prices of LPG cylinders without a subsidy of 14.2 kg used by the common man. There has been no increase in its prices. The price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidised LPG cylinder in Delhi remains unchanged at Rs 884.50. Last month, in September, oil companies increased the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 25.

The price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidised cylinder in Delhi is Rs 884.50 without change, Rs 911 in Kolkata, Rs 884.50 in Mumbai and Rs 900.50 per cylinder in Chennai. State-run oil companies have hiked the prices of 19kg commercial gas cylinders. The highest increase has been Rs 43.50 per cylinder in Delhi. The price of 19 kg commercial gas in Delhi increased by Rs 43.5 to Rs 1,736.5. The price of a commercial gas cylinder in Kolkata increased by Rs 35 to Rs 1,805.5. The price rose by Rs 35.5 to Rs 1,685 in Mumbai and Rs 36.5 in Chennai to Rs 1,867.5 per cylinder.
