New Delhi: Prices of non-subsidized LPG cylinders have been cut in the country. Oil and gas companies-India Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation have decided to reduce the price of LPG by Rs. 10 from this month (April). After which the non-subsidized gas cylinder in the national capital Delhi and Mumbai will now get Rs. 809.

In Kolkata, it has gone up to Rs 835.50. While the price of LPG in Chennai has gone up to Rs. 825. The most expensive LPG cylinder in the four metro cities is sold in Kolkata. The price of the cylinder varies from state to state due to different taxes. Let us say that oil companies review the prices of LPG every month. The price of LPG cylinders in the country is mainly dependent on two factors. The international benchmark rate of the first LPG and the second US dollar and the exchange rate of the rupee.

The price of the LPG cylinder has increased by Rs. 100 in 3 times in February 2021. While the price of LPG increased by Rs. 25 at the beginning of March. Overall, the price of the cylinder has gone up by Rs. 125 since February. Out of which only Rs. 10 has been reduced now. In the country, 12 subsidized LPG cylinders per family are available in a year. Further, there is no subsidy on the part of the government on the use of cylinders.
