Dhaka: India liberated Bangladesh from the clutches of Pakistan on this day. This day is known as Vijay Diwas. On this occasion, a former lieutenant colonel of the Bangladeshi Army, describing India as Bangladesh's best friend, said in relation to China that Bangladesh has only business relations with them. A veteran of the Bangladesh Liberation War, Lt Col Qazi Sazad Ali Zaheer has warned China that 'this is not 1962, this is 2022'. He said that the Indian Army is a very strong and trained army. He said that India is not an aggressor nation and Bangladesh has only business relations with China. He said that India remains the best friend of Bangladesh even today.

As per reports, he said, "Being a freedom fighter, I still live in 1971, a period I love and we love the people who helped us." Bangladesh-India friendship is for eternity – a friendship made of blood, soil, and sacrifice. This relationship will last for a long time. He has described Pakistan as a 'genocidal nation'. He recalled the period when a large number of people were killed, raped, and massacred in Bangladesh.

The former lieutenant said that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman 'Bangabandhu' believed in this concept of friendship with neighbors. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also believes in this concept and she is trying her best to keep this relationship very alive, true, and historically correct. The former lieutenant of the Bangladesh Army also said, 'At that time the people of India, the government of India, the forces of India supported us and that is the reason we won, that is the reason we felt so close to India and they are our best friends at the national and international level.
