Won't get treatment without aadhaar card..! Rules changed in Lucknow PGI

Lucknow: Mentioning of Aadhaar card number has been made mandatory for registration of patients coming for treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. PGI PRO Kusum Yadav has given information in this regard. He has said that now patients will have to mark their Aadhaar card number while filling out the registration form.

The PRO said the decision was taken following a directive issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Such patients, who are not citizens of India, will be required to enter a unique ID number or passport number on the form while registering for treatment at the institute. Necessary instructions have been issued by the Chief Medical Superintendent of PGI to implement this rule. An MoU has been signed between PGI Lucknow and PGI Child Health Noida on Friday.

Under this, both the institutes will work on studies in the field of teaching, training, skill-building and bio-medical and bio-sciences. Sanjay Gandhi at MoU, Director of PGI Lucknow Prof. R.K. The two institutes will work together to do research as well as hold seminars and conferences so that there is a new direction for better treatment of patients.
