LUCKNOW: All operating medical facilities in Lucknow will now be part of an integrated emergency care network, said the Brajesh Pathak, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Patients seeking emergency treatment in Lucknow will no longer have to race from one medical facility to the next in search of available medical beds once this network is functioning. Pathak said he has urged the heads of all major medical institutions to devise a system for emergency and trauma patients so that they do not waste time looking for facilities at a hospital.
"The system will display the availability of beds at various hospitals and may work similarly to the Integrated Covid Command Centre (ICCC), which was operational in the city during the Covid waves. Covid patients were admitted to all hospital beds through ICCC, which was run by the district administration in collaboration with the health directorate and medical professionals "he said.
Pathak promised that in the next months, health services will improve noticeably and that efforts would be taken to make the health sector more people-friendly. He has been conducting raids on several hospitals while acting as a patient in order to obtain information on the situation on the ground.
He has pulled up the medical professionals for their indifference and lack of patient facilities. In addition, he has interacted with patients in these facilities to learn about the inadequacies.
