Guwahati: The former general secretary of All Assam Student’s Union Lurinjyoti Gogoioined  On Wednesday joined the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) during the party's political convention.

While addressing the media in Sivasagar, Gogoi promised the vanquishing of anti-Assamese elements from the political scenario of the state. He also promised a return of regionalism as well.  Lurinjyoti Gogoioined further added that with the arrival of AJP, the journey of ‘jaati’ (Assamese community) has also officially begun, and the Assam of everyone’s dreams is not too far away. He said that as of now, communal tensions prevail in the state, and conspiracies are being hatched to destroy the democratic nature of the state. There is a concerted effort to destroy the state's culture.

Earlier on Monday while addressing the media here on Monday he had said that nationalism and regionalism will solve national problems and called all to join AJP. Gogoi had said the series of "betrayal to the people of the State by political parties has led to a 'breach of trust' between the public and parties. He had further added," In 2021 the people of Assam will get their dream government of regional forces that will ensure them justice and security."
