Kochi: BJP leader Smriti Irani, who created history by defeating Rahul Gandhi from the Amethi Lok Sabha seat, which is considered a Congress stronghold in Uttar Pradesh, has reached Wayanad, Kerala on May 3. Let us tell you that Wayanad is the same Lok Sabha constituency from where Rahul Gandhi was elected as an MP in the 2019 elections. Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani tweeted on May 2, saying, 'Namaste Wayanad! I will be there shortly to attend meetings and other public events related to the development of the district. see you tomorrow.'

After this tweet by Smriti Irani, social media users started giving their feedback on it. Somebody said that Smriti Irani would accept 'this boy' (Rahul Gandhi) away from here too, while someone wrote that, 'Madam, this is not right. You drove our Pappu Maharaj, now you have your eyes on Wayanad.' A user commented that, 'Do you want to send Rahul Gandhi in the ocean now?' In the 2014 elections, Smriti Irani gave a tough challenge to Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. And even after losing the election, Irani did not stop campaigning.

Smriti Irani worked hard on the ground, the effect of which was seen in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections after five years. Where Irani made history by defeating Rahul Gandhi by 55 thousand votes in his own stronghold. Since 1981, this seat was in the possession of the Congress itself.
