Kamal Nath in his letter also referred to the decision of the Supreme Court in terms of Article 175 (2) of the Constitution. The Supreme Court had provided for this in the case of Deputy Speaker of Rebia and Bamang V. Arunachal Pradesh. The Supreme Court explained the relationship between the Governor and the Legislative Assembly in this decision.
