In MP politics, the issue of cow and cow shed has once again become hot. Before the by-election, the MP Congress has accused the state government of making major cuts in the budget of cow and cowshed, while attacking the state government. Former animal husbandry minister Lakhan Singh Yadav has accused the state government of reducing the budget spent on cowsheds as well as reducing fodder expenditure on the cow. Former minister Lakhan Singh Yadav has accused the government that in the previous Congress government, the budget of animal husbandry was 130 crore rupees so that the amount could be spent on cow and cowshed.

Former Minister Singh says that the past government had decided to increase the amount spent per cattle from ₹ 3.30 to ₹ 20. In the previous government, the construction of 1000 gaushalas was approved, but the current government has reduced the budget of the department to one crore 60 lakhs. Also, there has been a big cut in food for cows.

Former Minister Singh has warned the government of a falling movement on the matter of reduction in the budget of cow and cowshed. The BJP denied the Congress' allegations. State Animal Husbandry Minister Prem Singh Patel has hit back at the Congress, saying that the Congress government had announced to build 3000 gaushalas, but the construction of 1000 gaushalas has not been completed and now the Shivraj government will work to construct the cowsheds. Regarding the budget of the department, Minister Prem Singh Patel has said that there has been a consultation with the Finance Minister regarding the budget and the budget for gaushalas has been reduced.
