The MP government has taken an important decision regarding OBC reservation. The government has increased the reservation from 14 to 27 percent. However, the Jabalpur High Court administration has refused to implement this amendment in the judiciary. The 10 percent reservation given by the government to the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) will also not be applicable in the state's judiciary.

For your information, tell us tell you that the High Court administration has written a letter to the state government asking it to issue a gazette notification in this regard. The Jabalpur High Court has approved reservation of 16 percent to SC, 20 percent to ST and 14 percent to OBC under Madhya Pradesh District Court Establishment (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules 2016.

The High Court administration has argued the Indira Sawhney case in this matter and said that if the revised reservation percentage is implemented, it would be contrary to the intention of the Supreme Court. Because according to the guidelines of the Supreme Court, in any case the total reservation should not be more than 50 percent. Let us tell you that the Administrative Committee of the High Court for the High Judicial Service also refused to increase the OBC reservation in the meeting held on 12 December 2019. After this, in the full court meeting of the High Court on 20 January, this decision was approved by all the judges including Chief Justice AK Mittal.
