Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court has taken a big decision in favor of the three and a half lakh pensioners of Madhya Pradesh. In fact, while hearing the petitions filed in relation to arrears, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered the Kamal Nath government to give 32 months arrears to pensioners with 6 percent interest in 6 months.

It is being told that this order will benefit 3.5 lakh pensioners of the state. Pensioners retired before January 1, 2006, will benefit from this order. In fact, from January 1, 2006, to August 2008, the 32-month arrear of the sixth pay scale was stuck. It was approved by the Cabinet in July 2008. Even after this, the previous government did not pay it.

After this, a petition was filed in the Jabalpur High Court in 2013 by the Retired Professors Association of Madhya Pradesh Higher Education. One petition was filed by pensioners in 2015 and one in 2016. After the order of Madhya Pradesh High Court, pensioners can get a minimum amount of 20 thousand and a maximum amount of Rs 1 lakh. At present, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has started following the order of the High Court, although this will also put a burden on the State Government's treasury.
