Khandwa: The case of 'Love Jihad' has come to light from the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. A man named Salman had been torturing a Hindu student for the last 1 year forcibly converting to Islam. This case has been registered under the new Religious Freedom Bill of Madhya Pradesh. This is the first case of 'Love Jihad' under the new law in Khandwa. Salman was harassing the victim by pressuring her to marry.

Since the sections related to this law were not uploaded in the online software of the police, the Superintendent of Police discussed with the higher officials of Bhopal before registering the FIR. The victim student of Jamkota village under Mundi police station has said that Salman, son of Rashid Khan, was harassing him and pressurizing him to convert to Islam and marry. He also threatened to kill her, which upset the girl's family members. Fed up with Salman's antics, the victim sent her family to her maternal uncle's house. Still, that eagle did not come. The victim is a student of class 12. The accused has been arrested. He has been sent to jail after being produced in court. The accused followed the victim the next day and kept threatening him. Fed up with his antics, the victim lodged a case with the police.

In this case, the police station in-charge of Mohan Singh Singore has made section 354D (making lewd gestures, obscene remarks, and stalking women), section 341 (wrongful restraining of a person), section 506 (threatening to kill a person) of the IPC. And has filed an FIR under 3/5 Religious Freedom Bill 2021 (a case of marriage and any other fraudulent conversion).
