Shahdol: A case of suicide from Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh has come to light. Where there was an argument between the shopkeeper and the man over the high price of samosas. After this, the young man poured petrol and made himself self-immolated. Police are now investigating the case. In Amarkantak in Anuppur district, the customer set himself on fire by pouring petrol on himself in a fight between the customer and the shopkeeper over the high price of samosas.

He lost his life on the way to the hospital during treatment. The shopkeeper is said to have demanded Rs 20 in place of two Samosas worth Rs 15 citing price rise. This started to be heard between the two. The shopkeeper alleged that the deceased had threatened to rape his wife and tried to pull her saree. After which he lodged a police complaint. Police had also registered a case under sections 294, 506, and 34 and initiated an investigation.

The shopkeeper said that the customer Bazaru Jaiswal was angry and approached the same shop at 10 am on July 23 the next day and started talking to the shopkeeper about the expensive price and the complaint at the police station. He also started threatening to kill himself. Then after a while, he set himself on fire. People present at the spot tried to douse the fire, immediately reporting the incident to the police and ambulances. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. While being taken to the hospital, his family recorded the last statement of Bazaru Jaiswal on mobile. In which Jaiswal said he had attempted suicide after being fed up with the harassment of shopkeepers and police. Police said the case is currently under investigation.
