Mumbai: Political parties have become active in Maharashtra in view of the upcoming assembly elections. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has embarked on a 'Mahajandesh Yatra' in the state these days. Amit Shah is on a stay in Mumbai to join this journey. Shah held consultations with top leaders including CM Fadnavis in the state over the election. The ally Shiv Sena kept a distance from this meeting. Amit Shah also visited the Chief Minister's official residence (Varsha) in the Malabar Hill area.
Shah's meeting was only for BJP leaders and he also visited the Siddhivinayak temple of Prabhadevi here. Amit Shah on Sunday addressed a rally in Solapur during the conclusion of the second phase of Fadnavis' 'Mahajanadesh Yatra', a mass campaign ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections. Amit Shah stayed in Solapur at night. During this, he held talks with Chief Minister Fadnavis, state BJP chief Chandrakant Patil and some other leaders.
Shah was expected to hold a meeting with Shiv Sena leaders. But this did not happen. Explain that in 2014, the two parties fought separately. The BJP had 121 seats in 288 and formed the government. Later, Shiv Sena also joined the government. Shiv Sena wants its CM in the state. So there is a difference of opinion between the two. Shiv Sena youth leader Aditya Thackeray is also on an election trip in the state these days.
