After the deadline to withdraw from elections on Monday, the battleground in the state is clear. Shiv Sena leaders have revolted against the BJP candidate in most of the places, but in some cases, the opposite happened. In some places, only BJP-Shiv Sena leaders and workers have turned against the party. Those who went to the elections after rebelling argued to their leaders that earlier they had asked for the preparation of elections, they have been engaged for two years. Now that they have prepared the ground of victory, they are being asked to step back.

These rebels also have some Congress-NCP leaders who did not get tickets. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State President Chandrakant Patil and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and Union Minister Subhash Desai were engaged by BJP to convince 144 rebel candidates in almost 50 assembly constituencies. They were successful in most cases. But in some important assemblies, rebel candidates will come forward as independents, which can cause trouble for BJP-Shiv Sena. They will contest in Vidarbha, North Maharashtra, West Maharashtra, Konkan and Sindhudurg, Thane, Raigad including Mumbai. The BJP-Shiv Sena has succeeded in stopping the rebellion in Marathwada completely.
