Mumbai: In a tragic incident on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway, a bus accident in Buldhana has resulted in loss of lives and injuries. The incident happened around 1.30am. As per reports,  total of 33 people were travelling on the bus.   Tragically, 26 lives, including three children, were lost in this devastating incident. The surviving driver, who managed to escape, reported that the tire burst led to flames engulfing the bus. Subsequently, the diesel tank of the vehicle caught fire, exacerbating the situation.

The   bus driver also survived and said that the bus overturned after a tyre burst leading to flames in the bus. Later the diesel tank of the vehicle caught fire.

 The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, has expressed his condolences and announced immediate support for the affected individuals and their families. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Chief Minister has declared an ex gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh for each family who lost a loved one, which will be provided from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Shinde has emphasized the importance of prompt medical treatment for the injured. He has directed the authorities to ensure that the injured victims receive necessary medical attention without any financial burden. The government will bear the expenses of their treatment.

In response to this distressing incident, the Chief Minister has initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the accident. While initial reports suggest a tire burst followed by a fire, the exact reason is yet to be ascertained by the authorities.

The local police are actively involved in the investigation and have confirmed that a total of 33 individuals were traveling on the bus at the time of the accident. Their primary focus is to establish the exact sequence of events that led to this unfortunate incident.

The government of Maharashtra remains committed to supporting the affected families and ensuring that the injured receive the necessary medical care. The Chief Minister's announcement of financial aid and the ongoing investigation reflects the seriousness with which the state addresses such incidents.
