The statement issued said that CM Uddhav Thackeray had appealed to the central government to allow Hafken Pharma to produce Cauvaxine and the Center accepted his appeal. In the last month i.e. March, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray raised this issue in a video conference held with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During that time he appealed to PM Modi to give permission to the state-owned pharma company to manufacture the vaccine. In fact, Haffkine Pharma had sought permission from ICMR for technology transfer in January and it has been approved by the Center on Thursday.
