Today, the Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra will have to prove its majority in the assembly. With this, the leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi will meet at the Vidhan Bhavan at 9.30 am and will discuss about the election of the speaker and the majority test. Shiv Sena leader Sanyaj Raut has claimed the support of more than 170 MLAs by Tweeter.

According to media reports, in Maha Vikas Aghadi, a coalition of three parties (Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena), Shiv Sena has 56 MLAs, NCP has 54 and Congress has 44 MLAs. The majority figure to prove the majority is 145 whereas, the Grand Alliance has 154 MLAs. After this, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will be elected on Sunday itself. Also, the opposition leader will also be announced. On Sunday, the Governor will also give his address. The majority will be proved at 2 pm today.

For your information, let us tell you that Uddhav Thackeray was given time by the first governor to prove his majority by 3 December. But, since taking the oath of Chief Minister, he wants to prove it as soon as possible. It is being said that Thackeray wants to expand the cabinet soon. Before the majority test, Maha Vikas Aghadi has removed BJP's Kalidas Columbkar from the Protem Speaker and NCP's Dilip Valsay Patil has been appointed as the new Protem Speaker. After the political chaos in Maharashtra, on Tuesday, Maha Vikas Aghadi claimed the support of 162 legislators at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai.
