Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray addressed the people of the state last Friday. In his address, he said, "The existing restrictions have helped in controlling corona infection and there are fewer active cases than expected. ''Not only that, but he also made it clear that the state will not have a strict lockdown like last year.

In his address, he said, "The Bombay High Court yesterday said that there is no need for a strict lockdown. Due to the existing restrictions, the cases coming up every day have been stabilized. There would have been 10 lakh active cases in the State, but we have stopped them at less than 7 lakhs.'' In his address, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra also said, "The state government is also ready to counter the third wave of the corona. The second wave of the corona was expected, but no one knew it would be so cruel.'' Maharashtra has the highest infection. Giving details of preparations against corona infection, Uddhav Thackeray said, "The number of testing labs in the state has been increased from 2 to 609 and 3 lakh samples can be tested per day.''

He also said, "District collectors have been ordered to set up oxygen plants. Even if the third wave comes, there will be no shortage of oxygen in the State. There is still a shortage of oxygen in the State. We are using 1700 Metric Tonnes of oxygen per day and produce about 1200 Metric Tonnes. About 500 MT has been allocated by the Centre from other States, which are far away.''
