Mumbai: A 40-year-old man has died after being given a second dose of coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday at a vaccination center in Bhiwandi, Thane district of Maharashtra. At the same time, this deceased has been identified as Sukhdev Kirad. Sukhdev was working as the driver of an eye surgeon in Bhiwandi. Sukhdev took the second dose of covid-19 vaccine on Tuesday. After which he died shortly after. Sukhdev, who hails from Thane, also took the first dose on 28 January.

Sukhdev Kirdat arrived at the vaccination center on Tuesday where he was vaccinated at around 11 am. After applying the vaccine, they were kept in observation for 15 minutes. But after some time, Sukhdev Kirdat fainted. He was taken from the Immunization Center to IGM Hospital in Bhiwandi, but he died before being admitted.

It has been learned that the body of Sukhdev Kirdat was sent to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for forensic postmortem. Sources say that the cause of Sukhdev's death will be known only after the post-mortem. Before applying the vaccine at Bhiwandi Vaccination Center, Sukhdev Kirdat had examined pulse and blood pressure, which was normal. Sources also said that Sukhdev had hypertension problem for which he was taking medication. Sukhdev's family has demanded a proper inquiry into the matter.
