Maharashtra has been hit badly with the second wave of the novel coronavirus. The Uddhav Thackeray government has issued revised restrictions amid a surge in Covid-19 cases across the state. Many cities and districts have issued orders of limited lockdown. Looking at such condition of the state Maharashtra Education Department is thinking over the postponement of the upcoming board exams.
The exams of SSC and HSC are suffering from last year with the introduction of the deadly virus. The education department officials are finalizing a plan for the upcoming board exams. The officials are likely to make a proposal to postpone it. The probability of board exams getting postponed is high as the cases of coronavirus in the state are increasing rapidly. On the situation going on, Maharashtra's school education minister Varsha Gaikwad told can’t say anything firm at this moment. According to ‘Plan A’, sops like extra time, home centers, and guidelines on the second attempt have been shared.
In the meanwhile, President of School Headmasters’ Charitable Association Zafar Khan talking to a famous website told about "urge they are making to the government to postpone the exams for at least a month and then take a further review based on the number of cases." The state government has guaranteed a second attempt in June to any student who misses the exam. On Tuesday, Gaikwad will meet with officials to review the situation once again.
