Mumbai: New Year is coming, the government of different states has started making new rules in their respective states. In the meantime, the Maharashtra government has appealed to people not to go out of the house on Monday to celebrate the New Year amid the Covid-19 epidemic. It is also said, 'Night curfew will continue till January 5 in the big cities of the state'. A new strain of Coronavirus has emerged in the UK and after this, the convenience has been asked to take more.

It is being said that curfew has been imposed from 11 am to 6 pm till 5 January in the areas coming under the corporate limits. At present, the circular of the state government appeals to people to 'welcome the New Year in their own homes' and 'avoid going to the beach, gardens, roads, there will be no curfew on December 31'. In addition, the circular specifically asks children younger than ten years and elderly people above 60 years not to go out of the house to celebrate the new year in the wake of this epidemic.

Every year on 1st January in Mumbai, people reach and celebrate places like Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Girgaon and Juhu etc. The government order that has come at present states that 'no cultural or religious program should be done during this time, people going to religious places on the first day of 2021 should avoid overcrowding'. Fireworks have also been forbidden.
