Businessman arrested for causing revenue loss worth Rs 31 crore to state government

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax (GST) department has arrested a business in Vile Parle last Friday. In this case, the businessman has violated the GST rules. Not only that, but it has lost revenue of Rs. 31 crores to the state government. He has been arrested on this charge. According to reports, the accused businessman has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) department is continuously taking action against those who 'manipulate the tax filing.'

In this order, the GST department launched a raid on a business company in Vile Parle. When he was found guilty, he was arrested. The third arrest is being made in the case since November 2020. In fact, even before that, two accused have been taken into custody and accused of not complying with GST.

Last Friday, these were the locations where officers raid Sevi Fabric Shiva textile, Shubh Linen fabric, Shakti Textile, and Shubhmangal textiles located in Vile Parle. All these firms are reported to be registered under the CST Act 2017 and are operated by Anuj Gupta. In the case, the accused Anuj Gupta has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by the court.
