Mumbai: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been a part of frequent discussions amid allegations of former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh's 'letter bomb' and extortion of Rs 100 crore. On Monday, he went out of government residence and reached the Sahyadri guest house. He was accompanied by some officials from the Home Department. According to reports, Anil Deshmukh stayed here from 8 am to 11 pm and held a meeting with the Home Department officials. So far, it is not known what he talked about with the Home Department officials. When Anil came out of the guest house, he appeared to be avoiding media questions.

Thereafter, he returned to his official residence at Gyaneshwari. Sharad Pawar had a press conference last Monday. During that, he accompanied Anil Deshmukh. In his statement, he said, "the allegations of talks between Anil Deshmukh and Sachin Vaze are wrong as Deshmukh was hospitalized in the month of February.'' At the same time, he also showed the form of Anil Deshmukh's hospitalization and said, "he was hospitalized in Nagpur from 5th to 15th February due to coronavirus infection. Thereafter, he was in home isolation from 16th February to 27th February.''

Further, Sharad Pawar also said, "It is clear that the allegations leveled against Anil Deshmukh were wrong, so the question of his resignation does not arise. Param Bir Singh's allegations will not affect the Maharashtra government. Former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh had written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari alleging that Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh wanted the police officers to recover Rs 100 crore every month from bars and hotels. The NCP met at Sharad Pawar's house in Delhi after the allegations, which included NCP leaders Praful Patel, Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule, and Jayant Patil.
