Maharashtra mandates wearing of Mask amid spike in Covid cases

SATARA-Maharashtra: The Satara district administration has mandated wearing of  mask mandatory for employees and officials working in government and semi-government offices, colleges, and banks due to an increase in COVID-19 and influenza cases in Maharashtra. On Monday, Satara Collector Ruchesh Jaivanshi issued the directive, which became effective right away.

The collector also urged locals to keep a social distance, wear masks and practise good hand hygiene in busy settings including weekly markets, bus stops, congregations and weddings.

The administration stated that the inhabitants had also been urged to wear masks, keep social distance, and practise cleanliness in crowded venues including weekly markets, bus stops, fairs, congregations, and weddings.

According to the state health department, Maharashtra on Monday recorded 248 new coronavirus cases and one fatality, bringing the total number of infections to 81,45,590 and the death toll to 1,48,445.
In the past few weeks, there has been an increase in the number of Covid cases in several regions of the nation. Due to the current meteorological conditions that are favourable for the transmission of the virus, doctors have encouraged people to take the appropriate precautions and not to disregard any suspected signs of Covid-19.

Over the past several days, Covid cases have been sharply increasing, with roughly 3,000 cases being recorded daily nationwide. The number of cases in the nation's capital has also sharply increased, with over 400 infections estimated to occur daily.

In the meantime, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, also urged consumers to exercise caution in light of the current Covid scenario.
