Mumbai: Maharashtra has received 4.59 lakh doses of corona vaccine. The consignment of the covishield vaccine has been given to the state government last Friday night. The Central Government has also assured Maharashtra of 17.43 lakh vaccine doses at present. It is now expected that with the arrival of the new consignment, there will be no shortage of vaccine in the vaccination avenues today i.e. On the other hand, many districts of Maharashtra say that if more doses of the vaccine are not available by Sunday, they will have to close the vaccination centers from Monday.

Mumbai is likely to close all its 72 private immunization centers for the next three days in view of the shortage of vaccines. Such information has been received. Talking to a well-known website, Dr. Mangala Gomare, Executive Health Officer, BMC, said, "If we don't get more vaccine stock by Sunday, then we will close all government centers from Monday.'' As per the information received, there is a shortage of vaccines at most of the centers in Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Panvel, Mumbai, and Pune. Satara collector Shekhar Singh said most of the centers except rural centers remain closed since Thursday.

Moreover, he has also said, "We have been told that new stocks will come. We are arranging for that now.'' 97 lakh people in Maharashtra have been given covid-19 vaccine doses so far. About three lakh people have been vaccinated last Friday despite a reduction in vaccine doses. As per the information received, about 10 lakh doses of vaccine were present in the state till last Friday. Amidst all this, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said last Friday that on April 10 and April 11, the anti-covid-19 vaccine will be administered only at government and civic centers in Mumbai and will not be administered in any private hospital. In addition, the BMC has also said in a statement that vaccination will be restored in private hospitals after the further dose of the vaccine.
