Mumbai: A war has begun in Maharashtra's Mumbai city over the name of a playground. In fact, a park named after Tipu Sultan is to be inaugurated on January 26 by Congress leader and Guardian Minister of Mumbai, Aslam Shaikh in Malad, Mumbai, in his constituency. Ahead of the inauguration, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), including the Bharatiya Janata Party, has raised objections.

VHP leader Sriraj Nair tweeted on the issue, saying it was done with the intention of destroying the peace of Mumbai and it could have been avoided. Maharashtra is a saint and naming a project after a brutal anti-Hindu is condemnable. After Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's statement on Sunday, the BJP has got an opportunity to attack the Shiv Sena in the name of Tipu Sultan in the midst of a war of words between the Shiv Sena-BJP in Maharashtra's heated politics.

The same BJP leader Ram Kadam issued a statement on Twitter saying that 24 hours ago, CM Uddhav Thackeray had talked about Shiv Sena's Hindutva and now the ground in Mumbai is being named after Tipu Sultan when he was the Chief Minister of the state. His ministers led by the Thackeray government will inaugurate a field called Tipu Sultan. It is worth mentioning that in the past also, Shiv Sena-BJP have made verbal attacks on each other over the name of Tipu Sultan in Maharashtra.
