MAHASHIVRATRI 2023: On account of MAHASHIVRATRI, In India, banks are closed on public holidays while some are closed on state-specific holidays. On gazetted holidays like Gandhi Jayanti, Independence Day, and Republic Day, banks are closed throughout the country. Bank holidays are state-centric during holidays like Mahashivratri.

On February 18, banks in these cities will be closed in observance of Mahashivratri: Mahashivratri is observed by all fifty states of the country, including Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.

States, where banks are not closed in Mahashivratri 2023, are as follows: Tripura, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Rajasthan, Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, and Meghalaya.
