Lucknow: Today i.e. on Wednesday, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is being celebrated all over the world including the country. Many special events have been organized on this occasion. The UP Legislature is also celebrating this occasion differently. The Legislature will record 36 consecutive hours of proceedings. In both houses, there will be a long discussion on all 16 points of the Sustainable Development Goal 2020-30 along with the philosophy of life of Mahatma Gandhi from 11 am to 11 pm on Wednesday.

Assembly Speaker Hridaynarayan Dixit told the media at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday that in 2015 the United Nations has set 17 targets for sustainable development. India has also signed them. The central government is committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. CM Yogi suggested organizing a special event on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Under this, a special session of the Legislature has been called. The session will begin with Chief Minister Yogi's speech on October 2 at 11 am.
After this, the leaders of all the parties will give views. Ministers of the concerned nodal department will put forth views on each target. All the MLAs will also be given time to speak on two subjects. Vis president said, 'Life on the sea' is one of the 17 goals of sustainable development. There is no sea in UP, so it is not included in the discussion.

Dialogue should be maintained between the debate, to achieve the goal, overcome personal disagreements and work with the interest of nation and state. Dixit said that the discussion of the 36-hour session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature on Gandhi Jayanti continuously for foreign countries is also there. He said that the opposition should also play a positive role in this.
