New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni has joined Team India back after a long gap of two years. He will act as mentor with Virat Brigade in the T20 World Cup this time. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared a picture of Dhoni with Team India. The board has tweeted a welcome to MS Dhoni and described him as king. Dhoni, who bid farewell to international cricket a year ago, has won the World Cup title twice as captain to India.

Dhoni is considered one of the best captains not only in India but also in the world. BCCI has added him as a mentor to Team India to take advantage of his ability and experience. Dhoni has made Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL champions under his captaincy two days ago. Dhoni appeared on the field on Sunday along with team India coaches and players. BCCI shared pictures of the same occasion on Twitter. The board wrote in this post, 'King is warmly welcomed. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has returned with a new role in Team India.'
Team India will begin their campaign in the T20 World Cup with a match against Pakistan on October 24. The team will also play two warm-up matches before this match. He will clash with England and Australia in warm-up matches. The first of these warm-up matches will be played in India vs England today. Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020. However, they are still playing IPL. He was last seen with Team India during the 2019 ODI World Cup in England. India lost the semi-final of the World Cup and the same match was MS Dhoni's last international match.
