Namrata Shirodkar  made her mark in Bollywood with superhit films like 'Vaastav' and 'Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai'. She was born in a Maharashtrian family in Mumbai. After completing her early studies, Namrata struggled to make her career in modeling and won the title of Femina Miss India in the year 1993.  She started her acting career and made his debut in the film 'Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai After the first film, Namrata signed the Telugu film 'Vamsi' and met Mahesh Babu.

On the sets of Vamsi the love story of Namrata and Mahesh started. 'Vamsi' was Mahesh Babu's first film They first met on the sets of the film 'Vamsi' in the year 2000. Both started dating each other slowly and by the time the shooting of the film ended they had accepted their love. Namrata is 4 years older than Mahesh Babu. Namrata and Mahesh Babu married on 10 February 2005.

In 1993, Namrata Shirodkar won the title of 'Miss India Universe' as well as 'Miss India Asia Pacific'. She finished in the top six in the 'Miss Universe Beauty Pageant' that year and was the first runner up for India in the 'Miss Asia Pacific Beauty Pageant'. The actor is best known for her performance in the film 'Pukar (2000).
