NEW DELHI: The Indian Navy's official Twitter account posted a video commemorating a "historic milestone" for the armed forces: the MiG-29K's first-ever nighttime landing INS Vikrant. The Indian Navy derided this accomplishment as a further stride towards the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" ideology that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promoted.

The historic milestone landing experiment on India's first indigenously built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, showed the crew and naval pilots' tenacity, talent, and professionalism, said the Indian Navy.

The Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) in Kerala produced the INS Vikrant, which is the first ship ever built in India. The INS Vikrant, India's first aircraft carrier, was given the name Vikrant in 1961.

On Saturday, the INS Vikrant, India's first indigenous aircraft carrier, berthed for the first time at Karwar Naval Base's newly constructed berthing facility. The Karwar Base's ship-berthing capacity will be increased as a result of this significant improvement under Project Sea Bird.

'AatmaNirbharta' in India's strength to design, build, construct, and operate an indigenous aircraft carrier with an indigenous fighter aircraft has been shown by the landing of LCA (Navy) on deck. Being the first instance where tests of a prototype aircraft successfully carried out on an indigenous aircraft carrier, it is a significant accomplishment on the part of the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The MiG-29K's landing on INS Vikrant is also a noteworthy accomplishment because it signifies the successful integration of the aircraft with the home carrier and further improves the Navy's combat readiness.
