The Assam Rifles, Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and Manipur Police successfully seized a large cache of arms and ammunition in the Sekmajin area of Kakching district, Manipur. On August 28, the coordinated effort resulted in the recovery of one Sten Machine Gun, two 9mm pistols, two single-barrel guns, ten grenades, and various other war-like stores.

This operation follows previous efforts in the region. On August 22, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police uncovered arms and ammunition in Tekcham Maning Ching, Thoubal District. This seizure included one 9mm carbine, one bolt-action rifle, two 9mm pistols, one M20 pistol, eleven grenades, mortar ammunition, and other military equipment.

Earlier, on August 19, a combined operation by the Indian Army, BSF, and Manipur Police led to the discovery of two miniature rockets, mortar ammunition, and additional war-like materials at a suspected terror hideout in S Nabil, Churachandpur district.

Another successful operation took place on August 7, when the Indian Army and Assam Rifles recovered a substantial amount of arms and ammunition in Kakching district.

In response to the ongoing conflict, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh emphasized the government's commitment to restoring peace in the state. He noted, “Peace lies with us. There will not be a specific roadmap because it is a conflict, not an accident. We are making every effort. Peace has been restored in Jiribam. Similarly, we are working district by district and engaging with the people directly.”
