Calendar is turning along with time and the first Indian festival of 'Gregorian calendar' is soon to come to share the happiness along with the most delighted sweet 'tilli k ladoo'. Do you love it? yes, its such a tasty sweet we eat and share with our friends family members. Crores of people celebrate it whole over the world with their own customs and belief.

Some of the 'zealing avatars' of Makar Sankranti have seen in several states with different dishes and names:

'Maghe Sakranti'-Nepal

Even though they celebrate Makar Sakanti similarly as we do but, their dishes and worship are just unique. Along with the sweet dishes of sesame seeds they make nepali dishes to serve lord Indra like- 'sael roti', 'aloo ko achaar', 'tarul' and many more.

'Sakraat or khichdi'- Bihar and Jharkhand

People of Bihar and Jharkhand go for early dips in river and then they worship lord Indra with 'holy food' made of sesame seeds. They believe in eating 'Khichdi' (puffed rice made by mixing dal).

'Sakraat'- Delhi

Delhi celebrate it as the 'Brother and Sister fest', brothers visit at their sister's home and gift them sweets and clothes. Whole family gather at one place and celebrate the festival by singing sons.

Uttarayan- Gujarat

Gujarat is tha main spot to enjoy 'Sakaranti' at its peak. This place has 'International kite flying competition'. Here people feed each other a dish called 'chikki'.

Makar sakaranti is the one of the huge celebration eve of India as it is known to the 'New Year of Indian calendar'. These festivals are best way to gather with family and enjoy all the tiny moments with them.
