Kolkata: A day before the second phase of voting in Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee today wrote to leaders of opposition parties. Through this letter, Mamata has urged the opposition parties to unite to save democracy. TMC Chief Leader Mamata Banerjee today sent a private letter to non-BJP leaders after campaigning in Nandigram ended on Tuesday evening.
Mamata Banerjee in her letter called for all opposition parties to unite against the BJP to save democracy. Mamata Banerjee wrote in her letter, "I believe that the moment has come for a united and effective struggle against the BJP's attacks on democracy and the constitution." The letter has been written to several veteran leaders, including five chief ministers of the country.
Mamata has also written to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, DMK Chief MK Stalin, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Ratan Yadav, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, CM Naveen Patnaik of Odisha, CM Jagan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh, former CM Farooq Abdullah, former CM Mehbooba Mufti, and Dipankar Bhattacharya.
