Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will be in Delhi on July 25. CM Banerjee's visit to Delhi is being linked to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Sources have come to know about it. This is Mamata Banerjee's first visit to Delhi after her landslide victory in the Bengal assembly elections in May. The victory, achieved in the face of the strength of the BJP election machinery, has fuelled speculation that Mamata Banerjee will play an important role in the opposition front in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Sources said Banerjee will meet several opposition leaders including Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi, NCP National President Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President, and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal during the visit. Political activities have intensified last month after election strategist Prashant Kishore met Sharad Pawar in two meetings.

However, Sharad Pawar said that the four-hour meeting with Kishore's Gandhi family earlier this week did not discuss the issue. This has led to speculations about him joining the party. Sources said talks with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra show that Prashant Kishore may get the role of a strategist in the Congress as the party prepares for next year's state elections and the Lok Sabha elections to be held three years later.
